Introduction to mushroom materials (Part 1)

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule, view media, leave feedback and see who's attending!

Most of the materials our world is made of are not recyclable or biodegradable. This inevitably leads to an ever-growing pile of waste. For developing new and sustainable building materials, mushrooms offer great possibilities. Using agricultural or urban waste and the roots (mycelium) of mushrooms, we can now grow biological materials that rival current common building materials.

With biology becoming more and more accessible thanks to initiatives such as DIYbio or biohacking, anyone can experiment with the growing process at home or in shared biolabs.

This workshop will give you an introduction on how to grow your own objects with mushroom materials.
