100 years ago, the morals of most people in Europe would have horrified us: sexism, racism, anti-semitism and homophobia were all the norm. Today, if we condemn those things, we feel like progressives. But within another 100 years, our morals will likely have shifted again. And as our technology and society are changing faster than ever, our ethics too might change even more radically in the next century than they did in the last. What kind of changes to our values should we hope for? Can we help to make them happen, or will these changes leave us behind? And can super-intelligent machines help us to find the answer?
