Driver Mapping (S3 Pattern)

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule, view media, leave feedback and see who's attending!

There's lots of talk about Agile, responsive or teal organisations that have dropped the conventional power-hierarchy and are now based on self-management. Decisions, idea's and structure 'emerge' in these kind of organisations, instead of being planned and controlled. That is awesome. And hard at the same time.

In this session, you will be guided through a Driver Mapping exercise to experience this self-organisation and emergence of teams and structure first hand. Driver Mapping is a technique from the Sociocracy 3.0 (S3) pattern library. It starts by identifying and agreeing on the main motivation (Driver) for your startup, company or project. After that, Driver Mapping helps us uncover the important actors, goals, requirements, risks and needed actions. You'll end up with a self-emerged structure of both purpose, people and work that you can start working on.

As Driver Mapping is relying on some other S3 techniques and idea's, we consider the Darefest S3 introduction session a prerequisite for successfully attending this session. Or being familiar with S3 in another way, of course. Without any S3 knowledge, this exercise and explanations in this session will hard to understand.
